Preparing for the Pour

As the next week will see a massive change in the project, it is time to provide this overdue update. Over the past few weeks we have seen Foundation walls go up and plumbing go in. We are at the point that the slab pour should be happening on Monday.

Lets go back in time. About 4 weeks ago the foundation forms were being stood up:

About 3 weeks ago the walls were set and we had gravel in place. The black paint on the backside of the foundation wall is to protect against moisture.

2 weeks ago, they had put in the under-slab plumbing for the sewer connection and had an additional moisture barrier on the back of the foundation wall:

About a week ago, the Architect and Contractor reviewed the site before the slab was poured to make sure that everything was going to plan. Of course, it was!

Now the gravel is spread, the slab insulation is set, rebar tied, and the site is ready for this week’s concrete pour.
